Universe 3012.Universe 3012. Earth is uninhabitable. Every country has taken refuge in neighboring stars deemed able to sustain life. Mankind was able to escape its extinction through a last ditch effort of interconnected astronomical organizations. Before, mankind gazed upon the stars. Now they’re living in them.
“What?” Jin mutters, his words hollow.
“The sun is burning down.” Takizawa says from the other end of the table.
“That’s impossible.” Jin grits furiously, “We’ve run diagnostic checks on its activities for twenty years running and it’s been stable ever since.”
“Within these couple of months alone, solar flare rates have increased by almost 65 percent. There are unusual schisms on the sun’s surface, and the heliosphere has been steadily regressing in an alarming rate.”
“What the hell are we supposed to do then? We’re just one independent organization. Those fucks up in the higher seats won’t even believe us.” Jin snarls, tossing his manila folder onto the table.
“Not if we have him.”
Jin’s mouth runs dry as a roll of building schematics slides towards his direction. “Takizawa.”
“He might be this universe’s only chance.”
“Are.. Are you fucking serious?”
Jin’s senior heaves himself up from his seat, tucks his hands within his pockets and heads for the door. “Good luck.”
Jin moves his glasses from his eyes, his gaze still affixed on the set of blue prints right before him. This can’t be fucking happening.
